The Upload Link feature allows you to create an easily shareable URL that you can place in your email signature, your website, or other convenient places. Anyone who opens the link will be taken to a secure portal to upload files to Revver and you will automatically be notified by email for every upload so you don’t miss anything coming through. Those who open the link will be taken to a streamlined upload portal view of Revver for a straightforward and intuitive experience.

Access/Permissions Requirements

To access the Upload Link feature and create Upload Links, you will need to be a Revver user with a full user license and the 'Document Request' user permission:

To edit or delete Upload Links that other users have created, you will also need to have the 'Document Request Management' permission:

Please note that upload links can only be created for areas where your recipients can upload files directly, so this feature will only be available for use in drawers and folders.

Creating an Upload Link

1. Navigate To Your Desired Destination

In the documents menu, navigate to the drawer or folder that you would like uploaded files to be stored within. Right-click on the name of the drawer or folder in the left tab or in the top of the middle panel to see a menu of options. Select the 'Create Upload Link' option:

2. Set an Upload Link Page Title

A pop-up will appear that allows you to update the Upload Link Page Title, if you’d like. This title will be visible to those who use the link. By default, the page title will include your account name. You can customize this to include your name, your organization’s name, etc. After editing the page title, select 'Create Link':

When you select create link, an Automation will also be automatically created to notify you by email whenever a file is uploaded to this location so you don’t miss uploads coming into this location.

3. Copy the URL

Once you’ve selected the Create Link button, the next menu will appear including the Upload Link URL. You can now begin using this link:

You can copy the link to your clipboard by selecting 'Copy Link' just to the right of the URL. You can also close the menu and copy the link by selecting the 'Copy URL and Close' button.

If you would like to test the upload link, copy the link and paste it into an incognito browser window.

Recipient View of an Upload Link

When a guest user clicks on the Upload Link, they will be directed to a simplified sign in page to provide their full name, optional email address and are asked to accept the End User License Agreement. Then, guests to Revver are greeted by a customizable welcome greeting and land on a streamlined upload portal view of Revver:

Viewing Your Existing Upload Links

Anytime you want to see your Upload Link URL again, you can right-click on the location from your Documents view and select “View Upload Link” to view the link again:

Editing Upload Links

To get the most effective use out of your Upload Link, here are the best practices to keep in mind while making changes to any defaults:

  • The Subject will appear as the Page Title for an Upload Link recipient.

  • The Message is the text that will appear just under the page title/subject. We recommend using this for instructions or an overview of the types of files you would like uploaded.

  • In the Documents to Request section, the name of the document will appear in the Upload Link as the title of the upload area. If you use the Upload Link to collect a variety of documents, it is recommended that this stays generic and does not name specific types of documents. The recommended default is “Secure File Uploads.”

  • We don’t recommend deselecting the Allow Multiple File Uploads box nor editing the minimum and maximum amounts. The benefits of the Upload Link include letting anyone with the link, at any time, securely upload as many files as they need to a location in Revver. If you don’t allow multiple files to be uploaded, only one file by one person can be uploaded using your Upload Link. If that is the case you prefer to support, we recommend sending a single document request instead.

1. Navigate to 'Sent Document Requests' and Open the Upload Link

To edit the Upload Link, visit the Sent Document Requests tab under Document Requests. All of your sent or active document requests, including this Upload Link, are listed in this tab:

Open the Upload Link you would like to edit by clicking on the Subject line content in the table.

2. Select Edit

You will be able to see a view similar to what the Upload Link will look like for your recipients who have opened the link. Note that the 'Requested Documents' area on the right is not part of the view of the Upload Link for your recipients. Your recipients will simply see the page title, a message under the page title, the upload area, and a button to submit their uploaded files.

To edit this Upload Link, select the Edit button at the bottom of the page:

3. Make Edits and Select Save

When you select the Edit button, you are able to edit the Upload Link details. Because the Upload Link is using the Document Request structure, you are able to edit all the same things in your Upload Link that you can edit for any other type of Document Request:

When you are finished editing the upload link, select save.

Please note that you can only edit other user's upload links if you have the 'Document Request Management' user permission. You will also need to access them in the 'Account Request' Tab.

Removing Upload Links

1. Navigate to 'Sent Document Requests'

To remove an Upload Link, visit the Sent Document Requests tab under Document Requests. All of your sent or active document requests, including this Upload Link, are listed in this tab:

2. Select the Trashcan Icon

Hover over the row that contains your Upload Link. Select the trash can to delete the Upload Link. When you delete the Upload Link, you are also deleting the automation that notifies you via email whenever a file was uploaded:

Please note that you can only delete other user's upload links if you have the 'Document Request Management' user permission. You will also need to access them in the 'Account Request' Tab.

Removing Only the Automation From an Upload Link

When you create an Upload Link, an Automation is generated as well. This automation will notify you via email whenever a file is uploaded to your Upload Link location. You can edit or remove this Automation to your preference:

1. Navigate To the Upload Link Location and Select the Automation Tab

2. Select Edit or Remove the Automation

To edit, select the edit icon. To remove, select the trash can icon:

3. Save Any Edits

From the edit view, you can add or remove users to be notified when a file is uploaded. To get the most out of Upload Links, we recommend using the Email action when a file is uploaded (selected by default) so you don’t miss seeing new files come in through your Upload Link:

Be sure to select Save when you are done editing
