In this article we will give you step by step instructions on how to create folder templates within Revver.

Utilizing folder templates, you can save time and effort that would otherwise be spent manually creating folder structures. Folder templates provide you with a standardized and consistent way of organizing your files and documents.

Access/Permissions Requirements

You will need a full license to create Folder Templates. In order to do everything detailed in this article, you will also need to have either the 'Admin' User Permissions set or the following custom permissions selected on your user:

Creating Folder Templates

1. Navigating To a Folder Template Library

You will be able to access the Folder Template libraries by selecting the 'All Features' button and then selecting Folder Templates:

2. Select a Template Library

Navigate through your template libraries until you locate the one you wish to create a template in, then open the library by left clicking it. (for this example, we will use the User Created library below). If you do not have any Template Libraries, see this article on how to create one.

3. Creating and naming the new template.

Click on 'New Template' in the top right-hand corner of the screen:

Give the new template a name, then select 'Add Template'

4. Design the Template

You can now start designing your new template. Either right-click the template name to and select 'new folder' or simply click the folder icon with the '+' sign:

Or

If you wish to add additional subfolders, right click on the newly created folder and choose 'New Folder', or hover over the newly created folder and choose the New Folder icon again

If desired, you may also add predefined documents (which allow you to quickly rename files stored in that location when the template is applied) by either hovering over the folder and choosing the Document icon (paper with a pencil), or by right clicking and selecting 'Add Predefined Document Name':

Additionally, you may also upload documents directly into the template (which will be uploaded to whatever location you apply the template to) by either hovering over the folder and choosing the Upload icon (the arrow facing up), or by right clicking and selecting 'Upload':

Additional configuration options (including adding profiles, permissions, governance, and automation to selected items) are available on the right hand side in the details pane:

You can find instructions for applying those additional options at the following articles:

5. Completing The Template

Once you have finished designing your template, Revver will automatically save your work, and you can proceed with applying that new template to a location in Revver.
