Accessing the Share Menu
To access the share menu you will need to go to the Documents view by clicking on the ‘Documents’ menu option in the left navigation menu.
Once in the Documents view, you will need to right-click a drawer, folder, or document in the center pane and select the option to ‘Share’.
Features of the Share Menu
Email Options
Email Tab - Shows the Email sharing options.
Link Tab - Shows the Link sharing options (we will go gover link sharing in the next section).
Shared Items - Displays the items that you are sharing.
Recipient Dropdown - Lets you chose the recipients, which can be current users, current guests, and new guests if you type in an email address manually.
Subject - Lets you edit the subject for the share emali that will be sent.
Body - Lets you write a message out for the users you are sharing items with.
Grant Instant Sign-in checkbox - This allows users to click on the link in their email and access the documents without having to sign in.
Advanced settings - Drops down a menu of advanced settings when sharing items.
Permissions:
View - Given by default, allows users to view the items shared with them.
Download - Allows users to to download items shared with them.
Write - Allows users to upload documents if given access to a container.
Delete - Allows users to delete items.
Notifications:
Upload - You will be notified when the user uploads.
Download - You will be notified when the user downloads items.
Delete - You will be notified when the user deletes any items.
Expiration:
With expiration you can select a date when the user’s access to the share item(s) will expire.
Link Options
A shareable link allows external users to access shared items without having to have credentials. Note: Use shareable links with caution as they allow unfettered access to whatever items you share via the link in your Revver account.
Shared Items: Lists the items being shared with the users.
Require name and email address checkbox: Allows you to require those using the shareable link to provide their name and email address before accessing items in the shareable link.
Advanced Settings: Drops down the advance settings menu which includes the following settings:
Permissions:
View - Given by default, users can see items shared.
Download - Users are able to download items that have been shared.
Write - Allows users to upload to the shared location. This permission cannot be given to those using shareable links.
Uses Remaining: This setting allows users to limit the number of times that the shareable link can be used successfully.
Expiration: This settings allows you to set a date when the link will expire.
