Item permissions are a security feature where specifications for each user can be set to control their access to an item and their ability to manage it.

First let’s review the permissions that can be applied and their meanings for both you, and the user gaining the permission.

Read: A user with this permission will be able to view the structure of a drawer and view a document within, but will not be able to download the document in question.

Download: A user with this permission will be able to view the item AND download that item.

Create: A user with this permission will be able to create directories and/or upload files.

  • Upload Files: Allows user(s) to upload files.

  • Create Directories: Allows user(s) to create directories

Write: A user with this permission will be able to download documents, as well as edit folder names, but will not be able to delete a folder or document.

Delete: A user with this permission will have the ability to delete and purge (Admins Only) folders and files within a drawer.

Advanced Permissions

Admin: A user with this permission will have the ability to edit or add permissions, automation, templates, and profiles. Users with the Admin permission can also give existing and new Guest users permissions to the item through the Share option.

Override: This permission overrides the current permissions for all existing items within the current structure. This permission will be applied to this item and ALL subitems. User and Group Permissions set above this item will be ignored.

Restrict All: This permission will restrict users from this item and all subitems. This will override all other permissions.
