There may be situations where you need to append (add more data to the end of a file) or prepend (add more data to the beginning of a file) or add a new version of a file entirely. This article will walk you through how to do each of these tasks.

Prepend

To prepend to a file you need to be in the Documents view by clicking on the 'Documents' option in the left navigation menu.

Once you are in the Documents view you will need to navigate to the location that has the file that you would like to prepend to. Now that you are in the correct location you will need to upload (by either dragging and dropping the file or using the 'Upload' button at the bottom of the center pane) a document with the same name as the file that you would like to prepend to. After uploading the file you will get a window that will popup labeled 'Existing Files'. From the dropdown in that window choose the option to 'Prepend' and you should shortly receive confirmation that the prepend is completed. Now if you refresh your view or select another file and reselect the file that you were prepending to you should see the new data prepended to the top of the document.

Add New File Versions

To add a new file version to an existing file you need to be in the Documents view by clicking on the 'Documents' option in the left navigation menu.

Once you are in the Documents view you will need to navigate to the location that has the file that you would like to add a new version to. Now that you are in the correct location you will need to upload (by either dragging and dropping the file or using the 'Upload' button at the bottom of the center pane) a document with the same name as the file that you would like to add a new version to. After uploading the file you will get a window that will popup labeled 'Existing Files'. From the dropdown in that window choose the option to 'Add File Version' and you can add a comment optionally. Now you should be able to see the new version of the file that was uploaded. The clip below shows the process of adding a new file version and then shows how to view previous file versions through the right details pane.
