When it comes to updating the desktop application there are 3 different methods that this can be accomplished. In this article we will cover each method.

What's New With the Latest Desktop App Version 1.0.48?

  • Improved Revver Branding on all components and add-ins

  • Support for the new "checkout with desktop app" functionality from the web app

  • You can now select multiple files at once for upload more easily

  • You can now drag and drop multiple files into the desktop app at once more easily

Please note that the latest version is not compatible with Windows 8 or earlier

Automatic Update From Application Prompt

The first and by far the most common way of updating the Revver Desktop Application is an auto - deployment method from Revver. Your system upon launching the application will do a check with our system and see if the program is on the latest version. If it is not it will bring up a prompt and ask if you would like to update your system. Select “YES” and go through the installation process to get the program updated to the latest version.

Controlled Release by IT Administrator via MSI Installer

This method is used if you have security that does not allow for users to update their own installation. This link provides an MSI installer that you can run directly on the machine that is being updated. All you have to do is run this over the top of the previous installation and it will update the program to the current build.

Select next on the wizard until the installation completes.

Please note that the provided MSI Installer above is what you would use to push updates out to your entire organization using command install programs.

Complete Uninstall and Reinstall of the Application

This method is the least preferred and is recommended only to be done by an administrator of the machine that you are updating.

1. Uninstall the Previous Version

In the Windows Control Panel select "Uninstall a program" under Programs:

Navigate to the Revver Desktop Application, select it and then select "Uninstall":

Proceed with any uninstallation menus that you are prompted with.

2. Clear Old Appcache

Before installing the newest version we will need to clear out the application cache from the previous installation. To do so open Windows File Explorer and type %appdata% into the address bar and hit enter:

This will bring you to the roaming app data folder. Locate the folder called "Rubex" and delete it.

3. Reinstall the Application

After clearing the app cache you are safe to proceed with the reinstallation. You can run this installer to reinstall to the latest version of the desktop app.
