Profile information can be used to give you additional insight on the information that you are capturing during your upload and file management processes. In this article you will learn how 'Profiles' work with searching.

Please note that this article is used to search for existing profile information. If you are looking for information on how to add profile data to an item click here

Access/Permissions Requirements

In order to search profile data you will need a full or participant user license. You will also need the 'Profiles' and 'Search' user permissions:

Searching All Profile Information

In this section we will go over how to search through all of your profile items.

1. Opening Advanced Search

At the top of the screen within Revver is the search bar. Click on the advanced search icon to open the search page:

2. Check the Profile Box

Next to the search bar shown, check the box for Profile only:

Running a search this way will only look at the profile items on your items, file names and full text data will not be used to generate search results

3. Enter Criteria and Search

Enter the text you looking for within all of the profile information on your account and select 'Search':

The resulting search will give you all items that have a profile item that matches the text entered in the search bar.

Searching Specific Profile Items

In this section we will go over how to search for items that have matching text in specific profile items

1. Opening Advanced Search

At the top of the screen within Revver is the search bar. Click on the advanced search icon to open the search page:

This will bring you to the search page.

2. Expand Advanced Search Criteria

Click on 'Advanced Search' to expand the search options and then select 'Advanced Search Criteria':

3. Select Profile Item

In the Advanced Search Criteria section you will see a drop down with a list of additional items to use as search criteria. Select 'Profile Item':

Doing so will give you a dropdown list of all the profiles that have been created on your account. Select the Profile Item you wish to search:

4. Select Search Operator

Depending on the type of profile item you are searching with, you will have some different options available in the drop down for the search operator:

If you are looking to search for items that have profile items with specific text in them, it is recommended to select 'contains' or 'Like' as the search operator.

5. Enter Text and Add the Criteria

After deciding what operator you are using in the search, add the text in the text box next to the operator:

Once you have entered your text, select the plus button to add the criteria to the search you are about to run:

6. Run the Search

You can repeat steps 2 through 5 to add additional criteria before running the search.

Please note that adding additional criteria will result in a narrower search. If you receive no results it is likely because no items matched all of the criteria added.

Select the purple search icon to run the search when ready:
