In this article we will cover what each of the item permissions allows

Item permissions are used to determine the visibility and access user's have on structure and files within a Revver Account. In this article we will break down each item permission and highlight what it allows a user to do with the item it is applied to.


Required Permissions

In order to view and edit item permissions, you will need the User Permission 'Item Permissions Control' selected:

This option is included in all of the User Permission presets:

In order to add permissions to an item, you will need the 'Write' item permission over that item.

In order to edit existing permissions on an item, you will need 'Admin' item permissions over that item.


Permissions Breakdown

View:

A user with this permission will be able to view the structure of a container and view a items within, but will not be able to download.

Download:

A user with this permission will be able to view the container/item AND download that item/file

Create:

A user with this permission will be able to create directories and/or upload files.

  • Upload Files: Allows user(s) to upload files.

  • Create Directories: Allows user(s) to create directories (Constrainers)

Write:

A user with this permission will be able to download documents, as well as edit Container/item names

Delete:

A user with this permission will have the ability to delete item/containers


Advanced Permissions

Admin:

A user with this permission will have the ability to edit or add permissions, automation, templates, and profiles. Users with the Admin permission can also give existing and new Guest users permissions to the item through the Share option.

Override:

This permission overrides the current permissions for all existing items within the current structure. This permission will be applied to this item and ALL subitems. User and Group Permissions set above this item will be ignored.

Restrict All:

This permission will restrict users from this item and all subitems. This will override all other permissions.
