To ensure that your organization's confidential information remains safe, it is crucial to have effective control over user access. This article offers guidance on managing Guest Users within Revver, a key aspect of ensuring optimal security. By following the instructions provided, you can perform essential actions such as adding, deleting, and editing item permissions for Guest Users, granting them access to the documents they need while protecting sensitive data from unauthorized access. With the help of Revver's robust Guest User management features and the tips provided in this article, you can enhance your organization's security posture and streamline document sharing for your business.

A couple pieces of information for you before you read the guide:

  • Guest users can log in directly to the Revver interface using your sharable link or you can give them the basic login link: https://Account.eFileCabinet.net

  • Your Guests will need to log in using a desktop or laptop PC/MAC the first time they log in, this is to allow them to accept the terms and service agreement.

  • As an admin, you determine the level of permissions that you want to give to your guest users:

    • READ : Read permission allows your guest to download and view their documents

    • WRITE : Write allows the users to edit those documents and re-upload to their folder or drawer

    • DELETE: Delete allows the guest to delete any documents that are stored inside of their drawer or folder

How do I add a Guest User?

Guest users can be added in two ways. You can manually add the guest user or the guest user can be added through a folder or file share.

To manually add a guest user, follow these steps:

  1. From the navigation menu, select the 'All Features' menu.

  2. Under 'People,' select 'Users.'

2. Select the '+Add User' icon.

3. Fill out the Guest user information.

User Information:

  • Login: Guest user email address

  • Display name: Guest User name

Profile Information:

  • Select Profile: Add a profile to guest user

Security Policy:

  • Security Policy: A security policy can be applied to the guest user

User License:

  • Select the Guest License

4. Click on the 'Create' button.

Note: Guest items need to be manually added since guest users will only be able to view drawers, folders or files. See the Permission Article.

Add guest users through a share: See our “How to share a folder or file” article.
