Revver gives you comprehensive control over permissions to the items and locations you can provide to your users. If you need to create a user account that has the ability to view documents, but not download or upload any, you can do so using the following instructions:

Creating a New User Account

The first step in creating a view-only user would be to make the user account you want to provide this access to. If you've already done so, feel free to skip this step.

Creating a user is done from your 'Users' panel. Start by clicking on the menu expansion button at the top left of the Revver screen.

From there, click on the 'All Features' option in the navigation menu and select 'Users'.

This will take you to your 'Users' panel, showing all currently existing users on your Revver account. Create a new user by clicking on the 'Add User' button on the top right hand side of the screen.

Create a user using the users email address and apply the appropriate user license. As a note, guest users can only be provided access to individual drawers and folders, so the most appropriate license type to use in this instance would be a 'Standard' or 'Limited' user license.

Giving the User Item Permissions

Once you've completed the user creation process, it's time to give them view-only access.

If you're still in the user panel, start by switching to your documents view. Click on the 'Menu Expansion' button on the top left hand side once again, but this time select 'Documents'.

Once in your documents pane, click on the account level structure on the left hand side in the 'Folder View'. The account level is signified by a buidling icon. With it selected, click on the 'Permissions' icon to the right of the 'Details Pane' on the far right hand side, signified by an icon of a person.

With the 'Permissions' option open in the 'Details Pane', you can add our newly created user to the permissions for the account by clicking on the '+' icon at the top right.

You will be greeted with a drop down menu and a list of permissions you can provide. Click on the drop-down menu and select the new user you created.

To ensure they are a view-only user, only provide them with the 'View' permission.
