In this article we will cover how to create a new container (locations) in the documents menu

This guide outlines the process of creating new containers within your Revver account, focusing on two distinct methods for manual creation.

Containers are the cabinets, drawers, and folders that make up the structure within the documents menu.


Access/Permissions Requirements

In order to create and modify structure using the methods below, you must have an essentials or full user license. You will also need the 'Create Modify Structure' user permission selected:

You will also need the 'Create' item permission on the location you are trying to add a new container to:


Creation In the Folder View

In this section we will go over creating a new container in the 'Folder View' (Left Column)

1. Navigate To the Desired Container and Select New

In the documents menu, select the account, cabinet, drawer or folder you wish to add a new container to by left clicking it in the 'Folder View'. Then, right click it and select 'New Cabinet', 'New Drawer', or 'New Folder'. The option show will depend on where you are creating the new container:

You can also create a new container in the selected location by clicking on the new container icon displayed just to the right of the item you have selected:

2. Name and Save the New Container

After selecting 'New Container' or the 'Add Container' icon you will see the new container with it's name highlighted:

Enter the desired name and select the 'Save' icon to save the new container:


Creation In the Documents Pane

Containers can also be created in the 'Documents Pane' (Center Panel/Column). In this section we will go over how to do so.

1. Navigate To the Desired Container and Select New

You can navigate to the location you wish to add the new container by selecting it in the folder view, or by double clicking it in the center pane. The container you are located in is always displayed at the top of the Documents Pane. You can right click an item in the center pane and select New Cabinet', 'New Drawer', or 'New Folder' to create a new container within the selected container:

You can also select the 3 dot icon next to the item's name to bring up the same menu:

2. Name and Save the New Container

After selecting your 'New Container' option you will see the name of the container highlighted in the Documents Pane:

Enter your desired name and select the 'Save' icon to save the new container:
