In Revver you are able to set default security policies for users, groups, and guests. These security policies can restrict location, machines, session length, password requirements and more.
This enterprise feature allows you peace of mind when using Revver in your business and allows you to have greater control granted to your Administrator users.
Accessing Security Policies
To access your accounts security policies, click on the 'All Features' option on the left hand side of the Revver screen and select 'Security Policies' from under the 'Account Column'.
Creating a Security Policy
To create a new security policy, click on the purple 'Create Security Policy' button at the top right of the page.
The following section will go over the available options when configuring a new security policy.
Password Requirements:
Password requirements can help you set specific length, characters, and change frequency (days).
Session Time-out Length:
You can choose how long your users are allowed to be in a single session in Revver.
Require Two Factor Authentication
When checking the box to require Two Factor Authentication you are met with different options:
Mobile Authenticator App - this will require the user to scan a QR Code using their mobile authenticator application.
Email Token - a token with a code will be sent to the user’s inbox.
Either - this will allow the user to use either code.
You can also set the login frequency requirement
Specific IP Addresses
This allows only specific IP Addresses to log into your Revver Account
When configuring specific IP address requirements, please ensure you are using your public or WAN IP address. Your local, subnet, or LAN IP address will not be sufficient.
Improperly configuring a specific IP address requirement can potentially lead to user lockout. If you need assistance with this or have questions, please contact our support team using the chat bubble at the bottom right of your screen on this page or on our main website at http://www.revverdocs.com
Specific Login Times
This option will allow you to restrict specific times that your files can be accessed
Require SSO Authentication
Because Revver can integrate with your SAML 2.0 provider, you can require all users to log in with that SSO Mapping.
Requiring SSO authentication assumes you already have SSO setup within Revver. Please ensure that you have SSO configured and working for all users prior to enforcing this security policy.
Enforcing this policy without a properly working SSO configuration can lead to user lockout.
If you still need to set up SSO, we currently have guides on how to set SSO up with Azure/Entra ID and Duo SSO. Please see the following guides.
If your organization uses a specific SSO provider, please contact our support team for questions and assistance.
Require Outgoing Email Setting
This setting requires users to set up an SMTP Email setting prior to logging in. If the user does not have this set up, they will be prompted upon login.
