Why Aren't My Email Notifications Being Sent Out?

The purpose of this informative guide is to assist users in understanding the nuances of what precisely prompts document notifications to be triggered and what does not. Rest assured, in this guide you will be given all the essential information required to understand the Notifications system in Revver. There are generally two types of issues that will cause the notifications to not be sent out.

The first issue is the 'Automation' that should trigger the email may be set to 'Notify' instead of 'Email' on the automation applied to that container. The 'Notify' option is for notifications within Revver, not to send email notifications.

To trigger the email notification, the action most be set to Email'

If your Revver notification emails are still not showing up, there are a few steps you can try:

1. Try creating a user on your local system to test the email feature.
2. Check that your admin/end user permissions allow for notification emails.
3. Check your spam filters and junk mailbox.
4. Make sure the receiving email address is current and spelled correctly.

If you have tried all of these and it is still not working, there may be a spam filter on your mail server. If this is the case, try white-listing ?*@efilecabinet.com?.

There is one other issue we see from time to time though less frequently than the aforementioned situations. It is possible that someone has applied a custom email server settings on either the user settings or the account settings. If a server has been applied and the emails stop working there may be something wrong with the email server itself or the email server's credentials as entered in Revver. In that case you could try removing those email settings and with Hosted Revver the emails will be generated and sent from our server.
