If you are unexpectedly logged out of Revver, there are a few potential reasons why it occurred. This article will discuss those causes and ways to mitigate them.
Potential Causes
In general, there are only a couple of reasons why you would be automatically or unexpectedly logged out, including:
Your session timeout length, or one on a security policy your user is under, has been met.
You logged in to Revver on another computer.
You have a security policy that restricts what times you can be logged in to Revver.
Session Timeout
Session timeout length is an option available in your user settings page, but can also be placed on your user through a Security Policy.
To view or update the session timeout in your user settings, start by clicking on either the 'All Features' option on the left hand side of the Revver screen, or using the logout drop-down menu at the top right.
On the following page, locate the setting labeled 'Sign in required after...' and update the time frame, in minutes, to your preference.
Whenever you are logged in to Revver, the time frame specified here is how long you can remain inactive before you will be automatically signed out. This setting can only be overridden by a security policy that includes a session timeout length different from what you have specified in your user settings.
If a security policy is in place, you will be notified on your settings page that your session timeout length may be overridden by that of the security policy.
Duplicate Logins
Your Revver user can be logged in on one browser and one instance of the desktop app at the same time. If you are logged in via the browser or desktop app, and log in on another device using the desktop app, you will be logged out of the desktop app instance you were previously signed in to.
Security Policies
Security policies are designed to limit how and when a user can log in. If you are unsure if you have a security policy in place that is affecting your user, please speak with your Revver account administrator.
If you are experiencing unexpected or automatic logouts that occur during specific times of the day, a security policy may be in place that limits which times of the day you can login and access Revver.
Security policies can also impose session timeout lengths that supersede those set in your user settings.
