How do I Set a Signing Order In an Esignature Transaction?

How to set a signing order when using eSignature

A typical eSignature process allows all signers to sign at the same time, each getting to it in their own time. But sometimes this doesn’t meet your business need. For example, you may want your client to sign a contract before your organization, or vice versa. In the case of an employee review, you may want the employee to sign before the manager. You may have a process that requires sequential approval signatures that have to come in a specific order. The possible eSignature use cases are as varied as your business processes.

To accommodate your specific processes and needs, Revver eSignature using SIGNiX supports the ability to set a specific signing order, if needed. You can set up your signers in a sequential order, one at a time. Or you can set up a mix of sequential signers and other signers at the same time. For example, you could have two signers at the same time, followed by two other signers who can sign at the same time but have to wait for the first two signers to complete first.

Access/Permissions Requirements

In order to use the eSignature feature you will need to have eSignature envelopes available on your account. You can check and see if you have envelopes available in your account settings in the 'Account Features' section:

In order to send an eSignature transaction your user will need to have the 'eSignature' user permission assigned to your user under the 'User Permissions' section in the 'User Settings' menu:


Setting the Signing Order

After selecting the signers, you will see an optional checkbox titled 'Set signing order'. Checking this box will allow you to assign a specific signing order.

You can change the order number for any of the signers on the list. By default, the number order will be sequential based on the order of the signers on the list. They will be sent out in numerical order. If you want any of the signers to happen at the same time, simply assign them the same number. For example, all of the signers set with the number 1 will be sent first. When those are complete, all of the signers set with the number 2 will be sent, and so forth:

After setting your signing order, proceed with the eSignature transaction as you normally would.
