How Do I Add a Metadata Group to a Container or Document? 

Steps on how to add metadata groups to an item or container

Access & Feature Requirements

In order to do this, a user will need to have a full license and the 'Profiles' enabled feature.


Adding Metadata Groups To a Container or Document

  1. On the Folder View, select the container you will like to add the metadata to.


2. In the side sheet (Right pane) ‘select’ the metadata icon

3. Select Add metadata, and then add Metadata group. From here you can search for or select the drop down to select your desired group:


4. With the fields in the group added you can begin filling them out. Once you are done adding/filling out the information fields, be sure to scroll down and select save changes:


Adding Individual Metadata Fields

Individual metadata fields can be added to an item, separate from a metadata group. Metadata fields, not part of a group will be displayed below all metadata groups under "Additional Fields.

  1. Select Add Metadata, and then Add metadata field in the side sheet:

2. From here you can search for or select the drop down to select your desired field:

3. With your desired field selected, you can add any information to that field and then select save to save the metadata to the item:
